Jinger Duggar is opening up about a chapter of her life that a lot of fans can relate to: the money panic of year one. On the“Call Your Sister”podcast with her sister Joy-Anna Duggar, she said that when she married Jeremy Vuolo in November 2016 and moved to Laredo, Texas, they were living on his modest salary at a small church plant. Jinger admitted she walked into marriage without strong opinions on finances and quickly developed a fear of poverty, even though the couple always had their needs met.
“I was always afraid like,‘We’re not going to have enough money for whatever’because we were living on a really tight salary for the beginning,”she said on the podcast. She added that Jeremy would have taken any job needed to make ends meet, and she began to realize how much fear she carried about money in general. So Jinger started pursuing social media influencer brand deals, which brought in extra income and helped the couple save toward a house.
The couple eventually moved to California, where they’re now raising three children. For anyone who’s ever done grocery math in their first year of marriage, the story feels familiar.
