Jessica Simpson has never put her faith journey into a song. That changed with“my mosaic,”a track from for KING + COUNTRY’s new albumthe most beautiful colours, out Friday. Simpson is the featured vocalist, and she co-wrote the song with the duo, who describe it as an anthem of hope.
The lyric she shared with her 6.1 million Instagram followers tells the story plainly:“2023, born again in Tennessee. Back to what I first believed, now I am free, finally.”Simpson got sober in 2017, later moved to Nashville, and releasedNashville Canyon Pt. 1andPt. 2last year. In a statement about the song, she said,“It was not in the fight that I found my strength, it was in the surrender.”
There’s a full-circle element here too. Before the pop career, MTV’sNewlyweds, and a billion-dollar fashion line, Simpson started out on a Christian label as a teenager. Now she’s back where she began, singing about the road that brought her there. The album arrives Friday.
