Jennifer Lawrence Confirms Plastic Surgery, Wants a Facelift and Launches a Hair Care Line Called Mes

Jennifer Lawrence is giving us the rare celebrity interview that actually says something. In The Cut’s new cover story, tied to the launch of her hair care line Mes, the 36-year-old confirmed she’s had a breast augmentation and said she plans to get a facelift someday. She’s also been open about baby Botox and wanting to try buccal fat removal. Her reasoning is refreshingly simple: she wants to be a“sexy mom”and look like she has her life together at school drop-off, even when she hasn’t. She shares two kids with husband Cooke Maroney, so the mom-pressure angle hits close to home.

While the medical talk got attention, the business move is just as interesting. Mes is a three-product line created with Jasmina Aganovic, an MIT-trained chemical engineer, and it includes a repair mask at $52, a restyling serum at $44 and a volumizing mist at $34. The backstory sells itself: her hair got wrecked by repeated dye jobs early in her acting career, which is how we ended up with that pixie cut phase. Now she’s turning the damage into a brand.

So the question is less“did she or didn’t she”and more“does this change how you feel about celebrity beauty brands?”Would you buy a hair care line built on real hair trauma, or are you sticking with your drugstore favorites?

Would you try a celebrity hair care line, or do you keep it drugstore? Tell us in the comments.
