On September 30, she posted an Instagram video montage celebrating 25 years of Alias, and the biggest surprise in it was a rare reunion with her ex and former costar Michael Vartan. The two played Sydney Bristow and Michael Vaughn, the will-they-won’t-they couple that had viewers glued to their screens from 2001 to 2006, and they dated in real life from 2003 to 2004 before splitting amicably.
The anniversary post wasn’t just about one reunion. J.J. Abrams and costars Victor Garber, Ron Rifkin and Merrin Dungey all appeared too, making it a proper Alias family affair. Garner’s caption made it clear how much the show still means to her. She said the cast and crew were her whole world, and they still are, and gave Alias credit for changing her life by showing her she could handle action and tough roles. Not bad for a series that started as a midseason gamble.
