Jay-Z Calls Beyoncé "Fearless" and Admits He Gets More Nervous Watching Blue Ivy Perform Than Doing His Own Shows

Jay-Z stepped out in New York for the premiere of his“Jay-Z in 8”documentary and gave Extra an interview that parents everywhere will relate to. He praised Beyoncé as fearless in the studio, saying she tries all kinds of stuff and calling her one of the best producers he has ever seen. He also admitted he gets too self-conscious to attempt the things she pulls off, which is a wild thing to hear from a man with decades of hits behind him.

Then he turned the focus to Blue Ivy, who has danced on both the Renaissance and Cowboy Carter World Tours. Jay-Z said watching his daughter perform makes him more nervous than performing himself. He still gave her plenty of credit, pointing to her work ethic and her genuine love for the craft. With three kids, Blue Ivy, Rumi, and Sir, and a partnership with Beyoncé that started back in 2001, there’s a lot of family history behind that pride.
