Jared Leto's $12 Million Compound Buyer Revealed as Oculus Founder Palmer Luckey

Jared Leto’s Hollywood Hills compound has a new owner, and it’s none other than Palmer Luckey. The tech billionaire behind Oculus VR and defense contractor Anduril reportedly bought the property for $12 million. Leto originally purchased it for $5 million back in 2015, making this a pretty solid return on investment.

What makes this sale so fascinating is the property’s history. Built in the early 1940s as a WWII air defense center, it later became the Lookout Mountain Air Force Station, a classified military film studio. Between 1947 and 1969, over 6,500 films were processed there, including nuclear test footage. Luckey’s known for collecting decommissioned missile silos, so this acquisition fits his pattern of military history obsession.

The sale also comes as Leto faces sexual misconduct allegations from 10 women in a 2026 BBC documentary. He has denied the claims, calling them“absolutely and categorically false.”Would you live in a house with that kind of secret history? Let us know in the comments.
