So when Saturday Night Live put him in a promo for the season 52 premiere, the obvious bit was to have him try that key on the Studio 8H door. It goes exactly how you would expect. It does not open.
From there, Brunson escalates. A mallet. A chainsaw. Cast member Ben Marshall stands by trying to stop him, which only makes the whole thing funnier. It is a strong first look at Brunson’s hosting debut, and it leans into the fact that this guy has had a genuinely wild year on and off the court.
The premiere airs Saturday, Sept. 26 at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock, with KATSEYE making its SNL debut as musical guest fresh off a Billboard 200 No. 1.
