Jaclyn Smith Reveals Ex-Husband's Affair in New Memoir: "Denial Can Be Seductive"

Jaclyn Smith is finally telling her side of the story. In her new memoir“I Once Knew a Guy Named Charlie,”the Charlie’s Angels star reveals that her first husband, actor Roger Davis, had an affair with their real estate agent, Laura, just two years into their marriage. Smith says she found out from Laura’s husband, Bill, and when she confronted Laura directly, the affair was confirmed.

What happened next is the part that really stings. When Smith went to Davis, he denied everything and accused Bill of scheming. Smith chose to stay in the marriage, writing,“I couldn’t imagine how two people I trusted could have betrayed me, and for so long.”She also admitted,“Denial, I discovered, can be seductive.”

The marriage ultimately ended when Smith found Davis in bed with another woman on their fourth wedding anniversary. They divorced in 1975, long before Smith became a household name. Her memoir is out now, and it’s already sparking conversations about trust, betrayal, and why leaving is never as simple as it sounds.
