Hookah Base, Head Wound, and Houston Heat: Boosie Faces Felony Over Nightclub Incident

What started as a closing-time bathroom dispute at a Houston nightclub has landed rapper Boosie Badazz facing serious felony charges—and the alleged weapon is as unusual as the incident itself.

According to court documents, the trouble went down on May 24 at Dome nightclub in Houston, where security guard Edward Iglehart was clearing out patrons as the club shut down for the night. When a female patron asked to use the bathroom, Iglehart told her no—the club was closed. She didn’t take it well, allegedly elbowing him in the face before he escorted her toward the exit. That’s when things escalated quickly. As Iglehart bent down to retrieve the woman’s dropped keys and phone, he felt something strike the back of his head hard enough to draw blood. When he turned around, he claims he saw Boosie holding a broken glass hookah base.

The bouncer ended up at St. Joseph Hospital with eight staples in his head. Club owners and promoters told Houston Police the woman Iglehart was ejecting is Boosie’s niece—which appears to be the context behind what prosecutors are treating as a serious assault. Boosie is facing a felony charge, and prosecutors are asking for bail to be set at $85,000. He’s expected in Harris County court Monday to face the charges. His attorney, Carl Moore, hasn’t commented yet, but this case has all the makings of a legal battle with real teeth.

The incident raises hard questions about what happens when famous people intervene in nightclub altercations, and how far family loyalty goes when a bouncer is just doing his job. Whatever went down that night, Boosie’s facing more than just a headline—this is a felony that could carry serious consequences if prosecutors make their case stick.
