The 39th annual Hispanic Heritage Awards air Friday, Oct. 2, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on PBS, and this year’s lineup spans generations of Latin music. Los Tigres del Norte headline the ceremony, with Mon Laferte, Eladio Carrión and Ximena Sariñana all performing and receiving honors. Anjelah Johnson-Reyes hosts, and the show was taped Sept. 10 at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis.

The awards themselves are a who’s who of the moment. Oscar D’León receives the Legend Award, Mon Laferte takes the Social Justice Award, Eladio Carrión earns the Inspira Award, and Ximena Sariñana collects the Music Award. The People of Minnesota receive the Humanitarian Award, fitting since this marks the first time the ceremony has been held outside Washington, D.C. in its history.

Watching is easy and free, no cable required. You can stream via Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, PBS.org or the PBS app. Since 1988, the Hispanic Heritage Awards have honored figures including Celia Cruz, Gloria Estefan, Carlos Santana, Bad Bunny and Karol G. Friday night adds a new chapter to that list. So who are you tuning in to see?
