Hayley Williams has never been shy about speaking her mind, and her latest tour stop in Chula Vista, California proved it. During her performance of“Ice in My OJ”from her 2025 solo album, the Paramore frontwoman shouted“F–k ICE”and“Free Palestine,”sending a clip that spread across social media within hours.
The Department of Homeland Security responded to the moment through a statement to Fox News, saying Americans should express gratitude to federal law enforcement officers rather than belittle their sacrifice. Williams shared that statement on her Instagram Story Monday, adding a profane retort that made her feelings about the response abundantly clear.
It’s part of a pattern for Williams, who has woven political commentary throughout her current live show, including calling Christian nationalism the greatest threat to American democracy before performing“True Believer.”With two No. 1 albums alongside Paramore, a charting solo career, and a Primavera Sound Barcelona slot set for 2027, she’s got plenty of platform left to use. Where do you land: should artists bring politics to the stage, or keep the show about the music?
