Twelve years is a long time to wait for anything, let alone a live debut. Hayley Williams brought Zedd out during her Hollywood Bowl show on Monday, Oct. 5, and the two performed“Stay the Night”together for the first time ever. The 2012 collaboration had never gotten a live moment until now, which is wild considering how big it was.
The performance itself was the real surprise. Instead of the pulsing EDM arrangement fans know from the radio, Zedd sat at a piano while Williams sang. Stripped down, no drop, no build. Just the song. It capped off a tour run where Williams has leaned hard into throwbacks, including a Rico Nasty-assisted version of B.o.B’s“Airplanes”in Queens last month.
Williams plays her second and final Hollywood Bowl show Tuesday, Oct. 6. From there, The Hayley Williams Show heads to South America in November, then Australia and Europe in 2027. Which throwback do you want her to pull out next?
