Wladimir Klitschko has filed for temporary guardianship of his and Hayden Panettiere’s 11-year-old daughter Kaya’s estate, and sources say Panettiere’s family fully supports the move. The filing, submitted Thursday in Los Angeles, states that Kaya is entitled to the entirety of her mother’s estate. Klitschko, who lives in Ukraine, says he wants to ensure his daughter’s inheritance in the U.S. is protected.
The court documents also raise concerns about property. Klitschko claims jewelry has disappeared and that emails were accessed and destroyed. According to the filing, he and Panettiere had hired a security service before her death after a documented concern that someone had gained unauthorized access to her home. That service reportedly changed the locks and relocated storage units as a precaution.
Panettiere died Aug. 16 at 36 from the toxic effects of fentanyl and other drugs. She and Klitschko were together on and off from 2009 until 2018.
