Harry Styles closed his 30-night Together, Together residency at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, and he said thank you the old-fashioned way: a letter published in a special print edition of The Village Voice that hit Monday. In it, Styles tells New Yorkers it’s been“an honor to live and work in your city for the past three months”and praises the crowd energy as life-altering. The special issue is a full keepsake for fans, with concert photography and tributes to openers Tinashe, Jamie xx, Caroline Polachek and Lainey Wilson, plus coverage of the band, crew and charity partners behind the shows.
The surprise centerpiece is an op-ed from Anna Wintour, who makes her Broadway stance crystal clear:“That man should be on Broadway,”she wrote, pushing for Styles to headline a production of Singin’in the Rain. The Internet has not been calm since.
The residency may be over, but Styles isn’t going quiet. He resumes touring in late November with dates in Australia, followed by more North American and European shows next year, all in support of Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. So what’s your vote: more arena nights, or a Broadway debut?
