Harry Connick Jr. has released“Babe: Elaboratio,”an orchestral work he wrote, arranged, and produced as a tribute to his mother, Anita-Francis Livingston Connick, who died when he was just 13 years old. The composition was performed at Carnegie Hall on May 22, 2026, which would have been her 100th birthday, and was recorded in Melbourne with over 70 musicians from Orchestra Victoria and the Harry Connick Jr. Big Band. The music traces her journey from New York to Morocco to New Orleans, weaving together the places and moments that shaped her life.

A companion book,“Babe: Elaboratio: A Tribute to My Mother,”arrives Sept. 29 via Harper Celebrate, featuring personal photography and a deeper look at how his mother influenced his life and artistry.
