Halloween is stretching across the whole weekend this year, and southwest Oklahoma families have a packed schedule to work with. Things open Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Comanche Nation Housing Authority Fall Fest at 1918 E Gore Boulevard, followed that evening by trunk-or-treats at Elgin Dental Care at 5:30 and Carter Dermatology at 6.
Friday keeps the momentum going in Lawton with the city’s Halloween Bash from 3 to 5 p.m. at the City Hall Banquet Room. Willow Park, Marie Detty and Faith Bible Church all host their own events that day, downtown Cache runs a trunk-or-treat, and the 33rd Annual Moonlight Walk Against Drugs continues its long tradition.
Saturday is the big finish. The Simmons Center in Duncan hosts a Family Fall Fest Carnival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Elgin’s Halloween Parade and Trunk or Treat fills downtown from 4 to 6 p.m., and Lawton’s citywide trick-or-treating runs from 6 to 9 p.m. Most of these events are free, and all of them give kids a safe way to celebrate close to home. So which event is your family hitting first?
