Halle Berry’s custody arrangement with her ex-husband Olivier Martinez just changed, at least for now. On October 1, a judge granted Martinez a temporary restraining order that covers both him and the couple’s 12-year-old son, Maceo. Under the order, Berry’s visitation is limited to Mondays, Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
According to the filing, Martinez alleges that on September 26, Maceo called him to be picked up after Berry physically attacked and choked their son, and he claims it was not the first incident. Berry’s attorney, Marina Beck, responded forcefully, calling the filing“entirely meritless and deliberately misleading”and accusing Martinez of violating court orders and interfering with their son’s care.
Martinez stated that he does not want to permanently sever the relationship between Maceo and Berry, but believes they should not be interacting until she takes accountability for her actions. A hearing later this month will determine whether the temporary order becomes permanent. Until then, both sides are telling very different stories, and the legal process will have to sort out what happens next. What do you think should happen at the hearing later this month?
