Halle Berry’s custody battle with ex-husband Olivier Martinez just got a major development, and it’s coming from her 18-year-old daughter. Nahla Aubry filed a court declaration on October 7 denying Martinez’s claims that Berry physically abused her 13-year-old brother Maceo, saying she has never seen her mom hit, slap, choke, grab, or physically abuse him in any way.

The allegations started when Martinez filed a restraining order on October 1, claiming Berry choked Maceo during a virtual reality game incident and was racially insensitive. Berry responded with her own declaration on October 5, denying all abuse, describing herself as a domestic violence victim, and saying the incident was playful roughhousing where Maceo pushed her. Martinez was granted a temporary restraining order, and Berry’s visitation is now limited to four days a week.

Berry completed a court-ordered parenting class on October 6, and the next hearing is scheduled for October 16. With Nahla’s rare public statement now on the record, this case is only getting more attention.

Whose side do you think the court will lean toward on October 16?
