Halle Berry’s custody battle with ex-husband Olivier Martinez just took a major turn, and this time it’s her daughter speaking up. Nahla Aubry, Halle’s 18-year-old daughter, filed a declaration in LA Superior Court denying she ever witnessed her mother physically abuse her 13-year-old brother, Maceo. Nahla said she has never seen her mom hit, slap, choke, grab, or physically abuse Maceo in any way, and called the allegations shocking and heartbreaking.
The accusations came from Martinez, who claimed Halle choked Maceo during an argument on September 26 and made racially charged remarks. A judge found enough there to temporarily grant Martinez primary custody, leaving Halle with two days a week plus alternate weekends with her son. Halle’s attorney pushed back, citing past rulings that Martinez violated court orders and interfered with Maceo’s care, while Nahla described her mom as a loving and devoted parent who can be strict when necessary and expects her kids to be respectful.
Everything now hinges on an October 16 hearing, where Halle is asking the court to reinstate 50/50 custody. Until then, the case stays in the spotlight with both sides making their case in public and in court.
