Gypsy Rose Blanchard's Wedding Dreams With Ken Urker, Months Before His Death at 34

Back in May, Gypsy Rose Blanchard was talking about the wedding she never got to have. She told TMZ she wanted the big ceremony with Ken Urker, not a rushed one, complete with a poofy dress and family in the room. Her first wedding happened in prison, and she said it felt undeserved. She wanted a real celebration with the father of her daughter.

That future was cut short on October 1. Urker was found unresponsive at a residence in Raceland, Louisiana, on what was his 34th birthday. Relatives had gone to check on him after he failed to answer his phone or his door, and a 911 call was placed. Blanchard told People she’s in disbelief and doesn’t know whether his death was intentional, adding that he hadn’t been in a good state of mind lately. Authorities are continuing a death investigation.

The couple’s story ran from prison pen pals to an engagement in 2018, a split, a 2024 reconciliation, and the birth of their daughter Aurora that December. That little girl is now at the center of a very public tragedy.
