Gypsy Rose Blanchard is speaking out about two very different battles at once. On October 26, she posted an Instagram notice warning fans that fake accounts on TikTok and other platforms are impersonating her, going live, and asking people for money. Her message was clear: Instagram is her only official platform, she is not offering paid subscriptions, and she will never ask followers for cash. Fans are being asked to report suspicious accounts instead of engaging with them.
The warning comes during an incredibly difficult month. Ken Urker, Blanchard’s on-and-off partner since 2017 and the father of their daughter Aurora, was found dead at a Raceland, Louisiana home on October 1 — his 34th birthday. The cause of death is pending toxicology results, and the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office noted drug paraphernalia at the scene. The two shared a young daughter born in December 2024.
Blanchard has also launched a Change.org petition called“Kenan’s Law,”aimed at combatting cyberbullying. She says online harassment damaged Urker’s mental health and pushed him toward unhealthy coping strategies. The petition adds a bigger question to the story: what responsibility should social platforms carry when it comes to harassment? Have you ever dealt with a fake account using someone’s name? Tell us your story in the comments.
