Gypsy Rose Blanchard is speaking out after the death of Ken Urker, her ex-fiancé and the father of her daughter Aurora. Urker died October 1 in Louisiana, his 34th birthday. According to a police report, officers responded to a wellness check call made by Blanchard’s sister-in-law, Anita, and found drug paraphernalia, a syringe, a handgun, and two shot glasses in the home. Blanchard, 35, said she was in disbelief over the loss.
The two share a long history. They were briefly engaged in 2018 and welcomed baby Aurora in 2024. In an Instagram Story on October 5, Blanchard thanked supporters for the outpouring of love, calling Urker“an amazing father”and“forever my soulmate and my red string.”
Now Blanchard is turning her grief into action. She’s launched a petition called Kenan’s Law, which calls on social media platforms to better handle repeated harassment reports. In her words:“Fame does not erase humanity. A pattern cannot always be understood one post at a time.”The petition raises a bigger question about how online scrutiny affects real people and real families. What do you think, should platforms be held accountable for ignoring patterns of harassment?
