Gypsy Rose Blanchard is planning to attend Ken Urker’s funeral in Texas, a source told Page Six, even as tension between her and Ken’s sister Autumn Urker stays very much in the public eye. Ken was found dead in his Louisiana home on October 1, which was his 34th birthday. Police reported drug paraphernalia and a handgun at the scene, and no foul play is suspected.
Blanchard and Ken had ended their relationship about a month before his death, but the two were peacefully co-parenting their 1-year-old daughter, Aurora, and stayed in constant contact about their child. A source close to the situation says Blanchard remains in positive contact with Ken’s family and that they have been grieving together, even as Autumn has publicly criticized Blanchard’s behavior in the wake of her brother’s death.
The funeral will put all of that in one room: an ex who is also the mother of his child, a sister who has been outspoken, and a family navigating a sudden loss. There’s no clean way to grieve in front of an audience, and this family doesn’t get the option of doing it privately.
Do you think an ex should attend a funeral when there’s tension with the family? Sound off in the comments.
