Google Photos' New Wardrobe Feature Scans Your Closet, and People Are Split

Google Photos just launched a feature called Wardrobe, and it’s doing exactly what the name suggests. It scans your photo library, builds a digital model of you, and lets you mix and match outfits virtually. Shirts, pants, accessories, up to six items at a time, all without stepping into a dressing room. The catch? It needs at least 1,000 photos of you in recognizable clothing before it works at all.

Wardrobe is limited to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers on Android and iOS for now. Users have to manually enable it, and Google says there are guardrails: no swimwear, no lingerie, and no access for kids under 13. But the feature still has plenty of people raising eyebrows, especially since reports suggest you can select other people as your digital models too.

It all comes down to a familiar trade-off: how much of your personal data are you willing to hand over for a little convenience? For some, a virtual closet is worth it. For others, the whole thing feels like a step too far. So we want to know, would you let Google scan your photo library to build a digital you? Sound off in the comments.
