George Santos has a message for voters ahead of the midterms: be more selective. The former congressman told Us Weekly that we keep sending great reality TV candidates into Washington, and maybe we should redirect them to television instead. He also dropped a line that’s already all over the internet, calling D.C.“Hollywood for ugly people.”Coming from a man who was expelled from Congress in December 2023, sentenced to 87 months for fraud and identity theft, and then had his sentence commuted by Trump in October 2025 after serving roughly three months, the advice is landing with a lot of raised eyebrows.
He’s not slowing down either. Santos is currently on season 5 of Fox’s Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, and he voluntarily withdrew from the show on October 1. He says he’s all for the celebrity-politician crossover, pointing to Sonny Bono, Ronald Reagan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Trump as proof the pipeline works. He even suggested Marjorie Taylor Greene would be a great reality TV casting choice. Greene left office on January 5, 2026, after her public fallout with Trump over the Epstein files.
So we’ve got a convicted fraudster giving voters quality-control tips during a contentious midterm season, and somehow it’s not even the strangest political story of the week. Love him or hate him, Santos knows how to stay in the conversation. The real question is whether his advice actually holds up. Do we keep electing famous people for the vibes, or should we start asking for a little more substance? Sound off below.
