Gen Z Employee Quits Over 25-Minute Delay, Says New Job Pays Double

Getting held late at work is annoying, but is it annoying enough to quit on the spot? For one employee named Kayla, the answer was yes. After being kept 25 minutes past her scheduled end time for a meeting, she sent her boss a Sunday night resignation email that has since gone viral on TikTok. Her opener set the tone:“Hey, I know it’s Sunday night, but I’m not coming in tomorrow or ever again.”

Kayla didn’t stop there. In the same email, she revealed she had already accepted a position with the company’s main competitor, at twice her current pay. She signed off with“Good riddens,”a typo that somehow made the whole thing more legendary. TikTok user Nina (@corporateninah) shared the email, and it pulled in over 51,000 likes as viewers debated everything from workplace boundaries to whether sharing the email publicly crossed a line. Kayla later confirmed in the comments that it was her resignation and that she’s much happier now.

The story has sparked bigger questions about two-week notices, employer loyalty, and whether a competitor offering double the pay says more about the old job than the new one. So we want to know: would you quit over 25 minutes, or would you stick around and cash the check? Sound off in the comments.
