Freya Skye's "Bad Taste" Is Finally Out, and It's All Because Fans Wouldn't Stop Asking

Freya Skye first performed“Bad Taste”live at her New York headlining show in December 2025. No studio version existed. No official release. Just her, a guitar, and a crowd that ended up singing every word by the final chorus. That moment stuck with her so much that she decided the song deserved a real life.

When“Bad Taste”didn’t show up on her February Stardust EP, fans immediately started asking questions. Skye heard them loud and clear. She went into the studio and recorded the track in one full take, deliberately keeping the raw, imperfect energy of the live show instead of sanding it down into something glossy. The cinematic“mini movie”music video arrived Thursday, with a 7-inch vinyl release following on Friday.

But don’t expect“Bad Taste”to lead into a new album era just yet. Skye calls the song a goodbye to her Stars Align chapter. She heads back out on the Stars Align Tour this weekend, with Latin America and Asia dates set for 2027, and she’ll return as Nova in Disney’s ZOMBIES 5. For now,“Bad Taste”is a thank-you note to the fans who sang it first.
