Firerose is back with“Phoenix,”a new single and music video that dropped today and marks the first track from an album expected in early 2027. She wrote the song during one of the most difficult seasons of her life, not after it, as a premonition of what it would feel like to rise from the ashes.

The video comes from acclaimed director Chris Applebaum, whose credits include Rihanna’s“Umbrella”and Miley Cyrus’“Party in the U.S.A.”He reached out to Firerose after connecting with her music and her advocacy for survivors, and built the video around a struggle between darkness and light. The refrain says everything:“I will rise / Out of these flames.”

Firerose calls this moment“their Phoenix season”for survivors of abuse and trauma, and she continues that conversation on her podcastNo One Asked Her, covering faith, culture, healing, and reclaiming your voice. With an album on the way and a major video already out, this is only the start.

What song helped you rise out of your own flames? Drop it in the comments.
