FBI Director Kash Patel is officially off the market. The 46-year-old announced his engagement to country singer Alexis Wilkins, 27, after she shared a black-and-white photo on X showing off her ring. Her caption did a lot of heavy lifting:“Went and got the law involved.”Patel reposted it, and the internet immediately did what the internet does.
The couple has been linked since January 2023, so this announcement caps off a relationship that’s been quietly public for a while. Wilkins also made news earlier this year when she performed at Trump’s Great American State Fair and defended the booking after artists like Bret Michaels and Milli Vanilli’s Fab Morvan dropped out over political and safety concerns. She said she was invited to sing“on my own accord,”which added another layer to an already talked-about connection.
Now the engagement is blending celebrity news with political chatter, and reaction online ranges from congratulations to commentary on the age gap to pure appreciation for that caption. It’s the kind of story that keeps people talking for days.
What’s your take: best engagement caption of the year, or too clever by half? Let us know in the comments.
