Fabric nightclub and St Paul’s Cathedral have announced a four-year partnership that will bring contemporary music events to the iconic London landmark from 2026 to 2030. The first event is scheduled for October 29, 2026, and if that sounds unexpected, consider this: the cathedral already hosted RY X in 2024 and Patti Smith in 2025, so the groundwork was already laid.

Sadiq Khan showed his support on X, calling the two institutions a one-of-a-kind pairing and an iconic duo. But not everyone is celebrating. Peregrine Hood, president of the Nelson Society, called the move an insult to the cathedral, and US Bishop Robert Barron described raves in the nave as a surrender to secularism. The backlash has turned what could have been a simple concert announcement into a full-on debate about sacred spaces and modern culture.
