Trip planning might soon happen entirely in your messages. Expedia has announced a partnership with Meta to bring hotel booking into Muse, Meta’s AI agent. You tell Muse your travel dates, your destination, and any preferences, and it comes back with hotel options, room types, availability, and rates. If you like what you see, you complete the booking through Expedia without leaving the chat. Muse is available through its app on mobile and Mac, or directly in WhatsApp.
Expedia says the hotel booking integration is“coming soon to the U.S.”The move fits a bigger trend of travel brands embedding booking tools inside social platforms. TikTokGo already lets users book hotels and experiences on TikTok, and Expedia spent this year in a partnership with streamer iShowSpeed that included a dedicated fan site for trivia, votes, sweepstakes, and, yes, hotel bookings. The goal is clear: meet younger travelers where they already are.
That convenience does raise questions about trust and privacy, since sharing your travel dates and plans with an AI assistant means handing over personal details. Still, if the experience is smooth, it could replace a lot of late-night browser tabs. Would you let an AI agent book your next hotel? Let us know in the comments.
