Erika Kirk is marking one year without her husband. On Wednesday, the first anniversary of Charlie Kirk’s death, she posted a black-and-white photo from their wedding day with a caption that says everything:“…Until heaven.”Charlie was shot and killed on September 10, 2025, during a campus event at Utah Valley University. He was 31.
The past twelve months have been a whirlwind for Erika. Eleven days after his death, she stood at his memorial service and publicly forgave the man accused of killing him, saying“the answer to hate is not hate.”She later stepped into his role as chairwoman and CEO of Turning Point USA, and has joined Charlie’s family at court hearings throughout the year. Tyler James Robinson, 23, has pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder and is set to return to court on October 23, where a trial date may be scheduled.
Charlie’s family has said the legal process carries the weight of everything his murder took from them, especially his children, who will grow up without their father. A wedding photo and three words may be the quietest statement made all year.
