Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour has a brand new opening lineup, and it came together fast. After Macklemore was removed from the tour, Sheeran’s original openers, Finneas, Aaron Rowe, Lukas Graham, and Beoga, all quit in solidarity, leaving four empty slots on one of the biggest tours of the year.
The replacements are in. Isaac Slade, former lead singer of The Fray, will open for the remainder of the US leg. Joining him is Brooks Rosser, an American Idol contestant whose first show since the competition is Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Rosser shared the news himself, writing that he’s“beyond excited and grateful.”
For those catching up: Macklemore was pulled from the tour after a pro-Palestine performance, when NFL owner Robert Kraft and venues threatened cancellations. Sheeran apologized on September 19 for how he handled the controversy and has since implemented safety measures. The US leg ends November 7 in Tampa, with the full tour wrapping December 11 in Mexico City. So, would the new opener lineup make you more or less likely to grab tickets?
