Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour has a brand new opening lineup after four support acts walked away in solidarity with Macklemore. Finneas, Aaron Rowe, Lukas Graham, and Beoga all exited following Macklemore’s removal from the tour, which came after his MetLife Stadium performance of“Free Palestine”and“Hind’s Hall”led venue owners, including NFL owner Robert Kraft, to threaten cancellations.
Stepping in is Isaac Slade, the former lead singer of The Fray, who opened the Atlanta show and will continue on the remaining US dates. For the Indianapolis stop, Sheeran tapped Brooks Rosser, an American Idol Season 24 contestant whose first performance since the show will be at Lucas Oil Stadium. Rosser shared his excitement online, saying he’s“beyond excited and grateful.”
Sheeran addressed the fallout onstage in Philadelphia, apologizing and admitting he was“making mistakes.”Meanwhile, Macklemore announced his own Free Palestine Tour, and the US leg of the Loop Tour wraps November 7 in Tampa. With the lineup shifting this fast, every remaining show is suddenly must-watch.
Whose new opening set are you most excited to see, Isaac Slade’s or Brooks Rosser’s?
