Friday, September 18th, is Buck for Kids Day at all six Lubbock Dutch Bros locations, and the setup is about as simple as fundraising gets. Buy any drink, and the Dutch Bros Foundation donates one dollar to CASA of the South Plains. This marks the sixth year CASA has been a beneficiary of the event, which supports children navigating the foster care system.

CASA of the South Plains serves Cochran, Hale, Hockley, Lubbock, Terry and Yoakum counties, pairing trained volunteers with kids who need a consistent adult presence and someone to advocate for them in court. In 2025, the organization’s 222 volunteers donated 5,832 hours on behalf of 374 children. CASA estimates those hours saved county taxpayers $320,760 in attorneys’fees, on top of the difference a steady advocate makes in a child’s life.

The fundraiser runs all day Friday, but the need doesn’t stop at the drive-thru window. CASA recruits volunteers and donors year-round, so anyone who wants to do more than buy a coffee can reach out directly. Supporters have their own slogan for the day: buy a drink, drink the drink, help a kid.

Will you be making a Dutch Bros run on Friday, and do you know anyone who’d make a great CASA volunteer?
