Drake just dropped a John Cena reference on his new track“Quebec,”and the internet is loving every second of it. The bar goes:“Chrome belt, look like John Cena in here.”The song first appeared in Drake’s FOMO short film in September before officially hitting streaming on the HABIBTI (FOMO) deluxe in October. It’s not even the first time Drake has name-dropped Cena either. He also gave him a shoutout on“Wick Man”from For All the Dogs Scary Hours Edition.

Cena reacted to the lyric during an appearance on The Morning Show on Thursday, October 8, and his response was as humble as you’d expect.“You never know who you’re gonna reach,”he said.“And I’m super grateful for Drake.”He also reflected on his own brief run in hip-hop, adding,“I gave my shot at the hip-hop game, and I’m grateful for the time I spent in it.”For those who forgot, Cena’s 2005 album You Can’t See Me actually went platinum and peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard 200. Not bad for a wrestler.

The crossover runs even deeper. Cena’s iconic“you can’t see me”hand gesture was inspired by G-Unit’s Tony Yayo, and Cena has strong family ties to Canada. So this moment connects wrestling, hip-hop, and two massive fanbases in one bar. What’s your favorite celebrity name-drop in a rap song? Let us know in the comments.
