Dolly Parton’s estate has filed a lawsuit against her nephew Bryan Seaver, who served as her head of security, accusing him of using violent threats to extort money after her death. The suit was filed Sept. 22 by She’s Alive LLC, the company Parton established to manage her posthumous affairs, led by her longtime manager Danny Nozell. Seaver announced Parton’s death in an Instagram video on Aug. 25, weeks before the legal action.
According to the filing, Seaver’s behavior escalated after Parton passed, with increasingly violent written threats. The lawsuit quotes messages including“I’m a killer”and“I’m literally an international arms dealer and mercenary. All I do is warfare.”Seaver was fired from his security position on Sept. 16. The estate is now seeking a restraining order that would require him to stay at least 1,000 feet away from all team members.
