Dogs Took Over New York Fashion Week and a Samoyed Named Tilly Stole the Show

New York Fashion Week has always been about bold looks and bigger personalities, but this season the breakout star had four legs and a whole lot of fluff. Tilly, a Samoyed, closed Tommy Hilfiger’s spring 2027 show, and according to everyone backstage, the models and press were far more interested in her than anything else happening that day.

Tilly wasn’t the only dog stealing spotlight. Canines popped up at Simkhai, the Daily Front Row Awards, and the third-annual Best in Show presentation, where designers Rachel Antonoff and Susan Alexandra featured adoptable pups from Animal Haven walked by celebrities including Ricki Lake and Aly Raisman. Over in Chelsea, doggy daycare Barkhouse turned a 50-foot fake grass fetch lane into an actual runway, with former Miss New York Briana Siaca closing the show alongside her dachshund, Stanley.

The takeaway? Fashion week got a serious dose of puppy energy, and the wagging tails reportedly brought a joy that’s hard to fake on a runway. Adoptable dogs getting a high-fashion moment is the kind of trend we can all support. So tell us, would you let your pet walk a runway, or is that strictly a spectator sport for them?
