Disney+ is raising prices across most of its plans, and the ad-free premium tier is taking the biggest hit. It climbs from $18.99 to $21.49 a month, a 13% increase. Ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu each rise fifty cents to $12.49. The ad-free Disney+/Hulu bundle now runs $21.99, while the ad-supported bundle stays at $12.99.
The bigger story might be the fine print. Ad-free Disney+ cost $10.99 back in 2023, meaning the price has doubled in three years. On top of that, Disney+ updated its European terms of service to state that paid tiers may include promotional content, sponsorships, and advertisements before and after playback. The U.S. agreement doesn’t include that exact language, but it does already permit limited promotional content on ad-free tiers.
For subscribers, the takeaway is simple: the“ad-free”label is getting looser while the price tag gets heavier. If you’re bundling services or paying for tiers you barely use, now is a good time to audit your subscriptions and see where you can trim.
Are you sticking with Disney+ at the new price, or is this the hike that finally makes you cancel?
