Days After Court, Eminem's Ex-Wife Arrested on DUI Suspicion Again

The timing couldn’t be worse. Just days after Kim Scott walked out of a Michigan courtroom where she pleaded no contest to impaired driving and failure to report an accident, Eminem’s ex-wife found herself back in custody on nearly identical charges.

According to Chesterfield Township PD Detective Sergeant Joseph Feld Scott, the incident happened around 9:20 PM on Wednesday near the 21 Mile Zone outside Detroit, when Scott allegedly struck a parked car. No injuries were reported, but the consequences were swift—she was booked on a suspected DUI charge at Macomb County Jail in Mt. Clemens, Michigan early Thursday morning. She’s since been released.

What makes this development particularly striking is how quickly it follows her court appearance on Monday. That’s when Scott pled no contest to impaired driving and failure to report an accident stemming from a February crash. That incident was serious in its own right: she’d struck a parked car while taking her son Parker and three of his friends shopping, didn’t stop, then crashed into her garage door when she got home. Body cam footage from that stop showed her taking a breathalyzer test, and police found bottles allegedly containing soda spiked with liquor.

Now, less than a week later, she’s facing nearly the same allegations. Her sentencing for the February DUI is scheduled for June, and it’s unclear whether this new arrest will factor into that proceedings. Scott and Eminem were married in 1999, divorced in 2001, and briefly remarried for a few months in 2006—but these recent events have nothing to do with the rapper and everything to do with a troubling pattern that seems to be intensifying rather than improving.
