Dax Shepard is out here telling on himself, and we can’t stop laughing. On his Armchair Expert podcast, he told guests Sara and Erin Foster that he once hit on Kate Hudson at a poker game at her brother Oliver’s house, back when Hudson was still married to Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson. His assessment of his own attempt:“I gave her 111% of any charm I have.”The charm didn’t land that night.
But the story has a second chapter. Hudson and Robinson separated in 2006, and Shepard got another shot at a Malibu dinner party. This time it worked. He says,“From that night on we were just together every single day,”and the two dated briefly in 2007 before going their separate ways.
What makes the story even better is the timing of the podcast. Bell appeared on the show one day earlier and explained that Shepard’s version of flirting with her is complimenting other people’s looks.
