Dakota Johnson packed a lot into one weekend. Saturday night she hosted“Saturday Night Live,”and Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance during the monologue, declaring herself Dakota’s“literal therapist”before joking that Dakota just shows up at her house once a week with an empty bottle of wine. Sunday, Dakota turned 37 and kept the celebration going at Via Carota in New York’s West Village, joined by Jennifer Lawrence and Lawrence’s husband Cooke Maroney.

Taylor didn’t make the dinner, but she stayed involved in the birthday rollout: she was photographed presenting Dakota with a blue cake. The two have been close for a decade and recently worked together on the“Patient Zero”music video alongside Colin Farrell, so the SNL cameo and cake handoff fit right into their pattern.

As for the fashion, Dakota went with a black dress featuring sheer lace panels, heels, and a fur-trimmed leather jacket, while her bodyguard trailed behind carrying pink and purple flowers and a Valentino shopping bag. Photography from the night showed the whole crew outside the restaurant, and the internet did its thing.
