Cristian Castro is officially a Billboard Lifetime Achievement Award winner, and he marked the moment in the most Cristian Castro way possible. At the 2026 Billboard Latin Music Awards on Oct. 22, Jacqueline Bracamontes presented him the honor, and Castro used his speech to thank romantic love and poetry, calling them“the most beautiful things I have ever possessed.”The moment capped a career that includes six No. 1s on Hot Latin Songs and more than 12 million albums sold.
The night wasn’t just about speeches. Castro shared the stage with Ha*Ash for the live debut of their new collaboration“Antes Que Te Cases,”and the Miami crowd at the James L. Knight Center got a front-row seat during the Telemundo and Peacock broadcast. The 2026 honoree class also featured Rubén Blades, Rosalía and Fuerza Regida, making it one of the most stacked lineups in recent memory.
Three decades in, Castro’s romantic-pop legacy keeps finding new ways to resonate with fans. Whether you grew up on his classics or just discovered him through the Ha*Ash collab, this award night had something for everyone. What’s your favorite Cristian Castro song of all time?
