Ashley Tisdale’s husband Christopher French has finally been asked about the essay that set the internet on fire earlier this year, and his response is refreshingly drama-free. In an on-camera interview with Page Six published September 30, the musician said he supports his wife completely and trusts her to handle her own relationships, adding,“She’s a really smart chick. She’s a very capable person.”That’s the whole statement. No tea, no digs, just a husband who knows when to step back.

For anyone who missed it, Tisdale’s 2025 essay for The Cut about“breaking up”with toxic mom friends sent fans into full detective mode. Because she had stopped appearing in photos with Hilary Duff, Meghan Trainor, and Mandy Moore, the internet connected the dots fast. Duff and Moore have since publicly responded, with Duff saying she felt“used”by the situation.

And it gets bigger. In July, Tisdale partnered with Netflix to develop a dark comedy series called Toxic Moms. Whether it pulls from real events or stays fully fictional is still unclear, but the timing absolutely raised eyebrows. Friend-group fallout becoming a streaming project is a storyline nobody saw coming, and it’s got everyone asking the same thing: would you watch it, or would that feel too close to home?
