Christian Bale traded the cape for a cause. The actor just opened Together California, a foster care village in Palmdale with twelve fully furnished homes on a 4.67-acre property. The mission is simple and powerful: keep siblings together when they enter the foster system, instead of letting the system split them apart.
Bale and his wife Sibi were inspired after the birth of their first daughter, and they learned how often California’s foster system, the largest in the nation, separates brothers and sisters. The Austrian American Council West raised over nine million dollars for the project, and Leonardo DiCaprio also donated. The village officially opened with a ribbon cutting, and the first families are already moving in.
This isn’t a one-time check or a photo op. It’s a long-term commitment to giving kids stability when everything else in their lives has been upended. Bale said the goal is turning heartbreak into love, hope, and a sense of future. Twelve homes is a start, and the hope is that this model spreads.
