Chrissie Hynde Praises Taylor Swift's "Cleveland!" and Jokes She Did It First

Chrissie Hynde has nothing but love for Taylor Swift’s new song“Cleveland!”The Pretenders frontwoman hopped on Instagram Friday to call Taylor“a girl who stays on the cutting edge,”and she couldn’t resist pointing out that she wrote her own Cleveland tribute,“Precious,”way back on The Pretenders’debut album. Two Cleveland songs, four decades apart, and now officially connected.

In case you missed it,“Cleveland!”is a full-on love letter to Travis Kelce’s hometown. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end grew up in the Cleveland Heights area, and the song is about the two of them exploring the city together. The music video even features home footage of the couple, and Travis gave it his review on New Heights, calling it“a banger.”The track is one of four new songs on The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, which dropped in late September and pushed the album back to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for a 13th non-consecutive week.
