A Chickasha police officer is being held in the Grady County Detention Center after District Attorney Jason Hicks filed 27 felony counts against him Friday. Jeremy Markee Alexander, 39, faces one count of child abuse, 11 counts of exhibiting obscene material to a minor, and 15 counts of possessing child pornography. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation opened the case on February 9th at the request of the Chickasha Police Department, and investigators say they found inappropriate communication with one juvenile and a physical assault on another. U.S. Marshals arrested Alexander without incident, and he is apparently being held without bond.
Separately, Alexander’s son has sought an emergency protective order. The petition alleges physical assault, threats, surveillance software, and impersonation, and a hearing on that order is scheduled for October 26th in Caddo County. The criminal case and the protective order are moving on separate tracks, which is common in situations where domestic abuse allegations and criminal charges overlap.
For southwest Oklahoma listeners, this story raises hard questions about oversight, accountability, and how quickly departments act when the person under scrutiny wears the same uniform. The OSBI, the DA’s office, and federal partners are all involved, and the legal process is just beginning. We’ll continue following the case as hearings move forward.
