ComplexCon in Los Angeles turned into the backdrop for a celebrity feud this weekend when Chet Hanks approached Eric André from behind, tapped his shoulder, and declined a handshake, according to video obtained by TMZ. Both men removed their glasses and exchanged shouted words before André’s security detail escorted him off the convention floor.
The confrontation didn’t end there. Hanks took to Instagram comments afterward, claiming André had“NO MEMORY WHATSOEVER of trashing me to the media after I outshined him on his show.”He also mocked André’s security for how quickly they moved him away. The tension traces back to Hanks’2023 appearance on‘The Eric André Show,’after which André described Hanks as“emotionally disturbed”in a Rolling Stone interview. Hanks says André’s real issue was a Jamaican accent bit from years ago that André viewed as mocking Caribbean culture.
So where does that leave everyone? Two grown adults, one convention floor, and a comment section already choosing sides. Nobody’s exactly covering themselves in glory here, but the video is undeniably out there and the feud is very much alive.
Whose side are you taking on this one? Sound off in the comments.
