A year after testifying against Sean“Diddy”Combs in his sex trafficking and racketeering trial, Cassie is ready to close that chapter—literally. The 39-year-old R&B singer and her family have relocated outside the United States, according to court documents obtained in early June. In a May declaration filed amid a separate lawsuit with male escort Clayton Howard, Cassie stated that she“[resides] outside of the United States”and has no intention of returning.

The move marks a significant step forward for someone rebuilding after profound trauma. In May 2025, while heavily pregnant, Cassie spent four days on the witness stand recounting years of physical and sexual abuse she alleged occurred during her on-and-off relationship with Combs from 2007 to 2018. The 56-year-old was ultimately found guilty of transportation for prostitution and sentenced to just over four years in prison, with his legal team attempting to appeal the conviction. Despite everything, Cassie told the court:“I don’t hate him. I have love for the past, and what it was.”

Since then, life has shifted. Cassie welcomed her third child, a son, with husband Alex Fine just two weeks after her testimony concluded. She now has three children with Fine, 33, whom she married in 2019: daughters Frankie, 6, and Sunny, 5. A source close to the singer reveals she’s embraced a deliberately low-key existence—focused on family, routines, and presence rather than the spotlight that once defined her career.“She is still continuously getting therapy and living with the trauma,”the insider notes.“It is something she has to work on every day.”

What makes her journey remarkable isn’t the absence of struggle—it’s the intentionality behind her choices. While she carries“anxious feelings”knowing Diddy will eventually be released from prison, Cassie credits her husband as the steady anchor through the darkest moments. For her, the priority has crystallized: being the example she wants her children to follow.“She wants to be a strong, healthy example for them and show them what it looks like to choose yourself, set boundaries and move forward even after really difficult experiences.”

Stepping away from public life and relocating her family abroad suggests Cassie isn’t just recovering—she’s reimagining what her life can look like on her own terms. That’s healing in motion.
