The National Academy of Television Arts&Sciences has revealed its 2026 Daytime Emmy Gold and Silver Circle inductees, and the Gold Circle list is a serious flex. Byron Allen, founder of Allen Media Group, is getting inducted alongside Meredith Vieira, Patrika Darbo, and Francesca James. Meanwhile, Stephen Brown and Rubin Ervin will enter the Silver Circle. If you’re keeping score, Gold Circle status requires 50 or more years of professional experience, while Silver Circle requires 25. That’s not a hot streak. That’s a lifetime in the game.
Byron Allen’s journey is the headline here. He started in stand-up comedy as a teenager, became a familiar face on TV, and then pivoted into ownership, building Allen Media Group into a powerhouse that includes the Weather Channel and a growing portfolio of local stations. NATAS president Adam Sharp praised this year’s class for its“diverse career paths across many daytime genres,”and that range is exactly what makes this group stand out.
The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be held Friday, Oct. 30, at the Hollywood Palladium, and the ceremony will stream live on the NATAS YouTube channel, so you don’t need a cable login to watch. Mark your calendar, because this one’s going to be a celebration of some very long, very impressive careers. Who’s on your personal Gold Circle list of TV icons who deserve the honor?
